The race for 2023 presidential election has begun in earnest as prominent Nigerians have started showing interest and making their intentions know as far as the seat of number one position in the country is concerned.
Presently, at least, nine Nigerians have declared their interest to contest for presidency in 2023 general election, and many others may still make their intentions known later.
Recently, the former governor of Lagos State and national leader of All Progressive Congress (APC), party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, personally and officially made his long time ambition known to President Muhammadu Buhari. He told Mr President when he paid him a courtesy visit in ASO Rock Villa, that he had come to make his lifelong ambition of becoming the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, known to him, while the President wished him best of luck.
Meanwhile, during a live interview programme organised by the Channels Tv, President Muhammadu Buhari made a statement that he had no special candidate for the presidency comes 2023 general election. He said further that his interest, as far as who will take over from him next year is concerned, should be personal to him.Meanwhile, now that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially and personally made his presidential ambition known to President Muhammadu Buhari, he may not have other options than to morally, politically and financially support Tinubu, because Asiwaju had played very vital roles for the actualisation of Buhari's long time ambition, it is an obvious fact that, Tinubu used his money, political influence, intellect, time, wisdom, knowledge and energy to ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari achieved his aim as presidency is concerned.Now, it is Tinubu's turn, President Buhari May not find it easy to hold or withdraw his support for him, because one good turn deserves another, Tinubu had left no stone unturned, to ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari rules Nigeria.Well, the race has just started, let us all wait and see how the political event of things will be unfolded as we approach 2023 general election.what do you have to say about this?
